RC1 is best for anyone with natural hair between light brown and darkest brown. For other shades in our Double Tone Reds collection, check out RP1 Dark Intense Pink Red (Cherry Flamingo).
For those who currently have color-treated hair, there are special considerations for the color result you can achieve. We do not recommend RC1 for hair that has been colored brown or darker. 48 hours before each use of the product, complete an allergy alert test, even if you have used hair color products before.

Combine
Squeeze the entire contents of the ampoule and color crème tube into the applicator bottle.

Shake the mixture for 30 seconds to mix evenly. Break off the tip of the applicator to start applying.

Legitimately my favorite hair color of all time. Naturally medium brown hair and this color gives me the Perfect red. My one issue is it's so hard to find :'( the past few months it hasn't been in any of the stores near me and I can barely even find it online. When I find it I buy at least 2 to 3 boxes at a time and I think I had a breakdown last time I had to dye my hair a different color. Please never stop making this color I will go with it.

My favorite shade! I get SO many compliments from others about it, too. I love that it doesn't fade to copper like a lot of other reds do. Quite frankly, I am lazy and will let my roots grow out a looooong time past due. But even when I haven't colored in a few months I still loved the color

Conditioner not the same and hard to get out.

This color is good but the new conditioner container is not great. It’s hard to get the condition out.
I used to use raspberry but when the packaging changed recently, the colour was very different and looked more like firy red. This is why I’m now using cherry.
I just wished the conditioner didn’t change.

New garnier formula is not good

The R3 light intense auburn was so much better with the old formula so disappointed they changed it to this new ultra whatever color it’s too red not even a light auburn looking color Anymore use the old R3 for years and now I had no choice but to switch and look for my old R3 in different brands sooooo far it’s going on a year and still can’t find anything close to there old brand colors so I OFFICIALLY GIVE UP ON GARNIER BRAND after trying multiple different of there now new formula colors it’s a bummer they had the formula so well and they changed it on us it’s not even remotely close to the colors it was before there so ugly now

so i wanted to dye my hair red.. i dyed my hair this color thinking it would be like cute. BUT NO!!! even tho i used the whole thing and applied it EVERYWHERE it was patchy, only the ends and my roots were dyed red.. and the color!! it was UGLY! i did save it by dying my hair a brown a couple days later, it still stayed but it wasnt as bad. its cute fadded tho, my hair is a copper orange now and it wasnt a golden brown before. overall i dont recommend this for people who have brown hair and arent willing to bleach it before.

I have 3c4a curls. I was skeptical to use this at first but using this for the first time, it left my hair feeling soft and healthy! Little strong smell but the oil ampolue masks it. BR2 its dark but I love it!

Im only 15 and my mom was superrrrr nervous putting in this color. We were both afraid of how it would turn out. but IT LOOKS AMAZING :) The only thing i would change is that the color bleeds... a whole lot. i wear a white school uniform. horrible mistake. its been alomost 3 weeks and the water in my color still doesnt run clear. im also too afraid to go swimming. other than that i get SO many compliments on it. Im dying it again soon :) it also fades too fast for my taste.

Turned my hair Black!!!!!

I purchased the B2R Dark intense burgundy hair color yesterday for the simple fact that I wanted a change. My natural hair color is medium to dark brown. This color says it is specifically for darker hair... I followed all directions as written in the box, washed the color off after 25 minutes and my hair is NOT "intense auburn" by ANY means... My hair is now BLACK! The only thing it turned even a hint of red it my scalp! I did not want my hair to be black. If I wanted black hair I would have bought black hair color! Plain and simple, I'm highly upset and now that my hair is black, there is nothing I can do without paying a professional to strip all color out of my hair. which I do not have the money to do... So not worth it!!

When Garnier first came out, I used their products exclusively because they left my hair soft and manageable, and their true red hair dye was a gorgeous color without orangey tints. I received a ton of compliments on it from hairstylists, too.
I was VASTLY disappointed that Garnier no longer carries that shade of red, and hoped that this Nutrisse R2 medium auburn would get me close to that shade of true fire red. And it didn't even come close!! Thanks for nothing, Garnier. Let me know if y'all decide to bring it back. Otherwise, your products are a huge waste of time and money!

No longer the same

I have been using BR3 color for years, absolutely love it BUT as of lately something is wrong. I'm pretty certain the color dye has changed. It's alot lighter, not covering my grays & washes out within a couple weeks & I don't even wash my hair everyday. I noticed it the last time I used it, some grays weren't covered, figured it might have been me. I just dyed my hair again, & nope HUGE difference. I naturally have dark brown hair, tell me why my roots are lighter. So frustrated because it's my bday this wknd & now I'm going to have messed up hair.

Whatever you did to change the formula, please please change it back. The new formula is awful. Too thick it dries on my hair and the color is now an orangey red instead of a true red. I’m going to have to find a new brand.

Breakage!!

I am SO GLAD I did a test strip before dying my entire head. The color is beautiful but it WRECKED my hair!! Only left it in for 35 minutes - (you know it would be double that time if I let it sit after applying to my entire head) and my hair has broken and split in so many places. So so frizzy and I would’ve had a breakdown if my entire head turned out this way. I’ve used this brand in the past but the formula must’ve changed…Returning these immediately and do not recommend in any way shape or form!!

I used this product for years. This new formula is too thick. Too hard to get out of the mixing tube and too hard to get out of the applicator bottle. I had to take the top off of it and it made a mess, I can't precisely control it. You took a good product and ruined it.

Too Intense Red , not Auburn

Just horrible. Did a root touch up and the top of my head and roots and front are bright RED, not auburn. The color did not take on the length and my hair is as stiff as straw. Now have to recolor with a brown I guess to tone it down and even it out. Have never had such a poor coloring experience and have been doing it myself for decades. Do not recommend.

Not as vibrant as it once was

I’ve used this color for years and years and have always loved how vibrant the red is…until recently. I guess they changed the formula and now the color is super dull. Really disappointed. Guess I’m on a quest to find a new vibrant red box dye

Beautiful pink red colors but the strong ammonia

I love the cherry flamingo hair dye but the AMMONIA IS STRONG HAD TO WAH MY HAIR 5 TIMES TO GET THE SMELL REMOVED. Garnier company can you please make this color ammonia free? It's beautiful but the smell was too strong.

I’ve been using Garnier Nutrisse hair color for over 20 yrs.The new formula is too thick. I immediately noticed the difference. This makes it much more difficult to get to the roots and the bottle gets clogged too. I’m disappointed because I love the color I use, but I may have to switch.

I have used this color for years and absolutely loved it. The formula has changed. The color isn’t the same, it dried mt hair out and the color was gloppy and didn’t cover well. Why would you change something that was already great to something awful. I will be finding a new hair color brand. I am so disappointed.

I really like this color on my hair. I have medium to dark brown hair, the hair dye is a bit subtle in normal lighting but really gets loud in the sunlight. I get a lot of compliments on my hair. I have used this product for years. The reason I gave this a 4 instead of a 4 is because sometimes when I purchase this produce it seems to be a little different each time. Last time it was like the color did not take at all, they time it is Fab’O.

Horrible formula change, do NOT use!

I have been using BR3 for 4 years now and manufacturer has changed the formula to likely cut cost. I used new one thinking it is same as old but now I have pink hair!!! At first I thought it was my mistake so I reapplied in 3 weeks and still pink! Do not use!!!

Long story short: this was my first time using your brand of hair color, (I used R3) (far from the first time during my hair in general though) and I so far have great first impressions of it! 😁 Shocked? Amazed? Stoked? Nah! Those are understatements, it gave my medium/light brown hair a very vibrant red result and even after the first wash? No noticable fading so far! I rarely leave reviews on anything but this brand was WORTH the review! 🤘😊

Why why would you change your formula!!!!!!!! It’s not the same color anymore it’s more Orange now !!!!! Ive been using this color for years you should give a warning of your changing formula . now I have to wait for the color to fade away and find a new color not happy with this new formula and even worse I dyed my hair on my wedding week.

Absolutely LOVE this color!!! The only thing is..is it just me or does it smell like Cat pee??? Like REALLY bad!! After you wash your hair I have to wash it like 5 more times to get rid of the cat pee smell. Other than that this color is the BEST!!!

I got my Nutrisse Ultra Color in Cherry Flamingo, it’s easy to use just follow the easy instructions on the box and don’t forget to wear gloves even though this box didn’t provide them. My hair actually looked like a cherry flamingo that’s how red it turn out long lasting after a few washes.

Love the way it came out :) (Just a heads up, my hair is a
Black, so I did have to bleach it. The color didn’t show up the first time I used this product on my dark hair. If your hair is black or dark brown, I suggest bleaching first or lightening your hair first, before you try to add color.)

This kit is consistent and the color accurate to the shades shown on the box. It's so easy to use and doesn't require additional bleaching. It is literally the best 1 step fuscia that I have ever used and absolutely LOVE IT!!!! I'm so sad I can't find it at any of my local stores anymore though. Not one. Not even at a Walmart.

The Nutrisse ultra color hair dye worked perfectly on my hair. It was super easy to apply flowing the directions provided. I love doing my hair at home, it lets me be in control a bit more. This product doesn't have the bad smells like other products do. It let my hair feeling healthier and looking great.

I didn’t really care for the color on this one. And it faded really quick for me. And I started to like it more after it faded. Maybe the color just wasn’t for me. I would suggest having a darker hair color

Absolutely loved this color! Everything from the name to the vibrant color. The smell isn't bad for this hair color either vrs other brands. Comes with disposable gloves as well which is always a bonus in my book. Very easy to read and use.

- A: Hello kandy72727. Great question! The R3 - Light Intense Auburn does not have enough lift or pigment to show up on natural black hair. Since dyed hair is even harder to lighten than natural hair, dying your hair another color first will make it even harder to see a lighter red result. It also depends on the porosity of your hair. If your hair is on the dryer side it tends to the hold the color and doesn't always rinse out completely.
