Watch our how-to video starring Drew Barrymore, or follow the step-by-step process below:
1. PREP
Start with dry, unwashed hair. Perform an allergy test 48 hours before coloring. Drape a towel and put on gloves. Squeeze the color crème into the applicator bottle (developer), then add the fruit-oil concentrate. Replace the cap, cover the tip, and shake until fully blended.
2. APPLY & DYE
For all-over dark natural blonde hair: Apply at the roots in sections. (You can use the nozzle like a tail comb.) Work into your roots with fingers, then saturate the lengths and ends.
For a dark natural blonde root touchup: Separate hair into sections as you apply color to new growth, targeting any stubborn grays.
3. PROCESS
Clip hair up and process for 25–30 minutes (use the full 30 minutes for resistant grays).
4. RINSE, CONDITION, STYLE
Add a little warm water to emulsify, then rinse until the water runs clear. Apply the silicone-free after-color conditioner with five fruit oils and leave on 2–5 minutes. Rinse well, gently towel-dry, and style. No need to shampoo after coloring.

How Long Does Natural Dark Blonde Hair Color Last?
Natural Dark Blonde hair color is a permanent Nutrisse Ultra Crème shade that typically lasts 4-6 weeks, depending on wash frequency and hair porosity. Between applications, your hair color will stay rich and conditioned thanks to Garnier’s ultra-nourishing fruit-oil technology.
Can I Use Nutrisse Ultra Crème Natural Dark Blonde Hair Color on Textured Hair?
All Nutrisse Ultra Crème shades, including 70 Natural Dark Blonde, are formulated for excellent results on all hair types and textures. This includes straight and fine hair, waves, curls, and coils. The ultra-rich crème formula and infused fruit oils help nourish textured hair while depositing even color.
Does Nutrisse Ultra Crème Natural Dark Blonde Hair Color Fade?
As with all permanent hair dye formulas, Nutrisse Ultra Crème Natural Dark Blonde produces minimal fading, but the warm undertones may soften over time (depending on your care and wash frequency). You can delay any fading and keep the tone bright by washing a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner, as well as avoiding exposure to heat (hot water, styling tools, etc.).
Does Nutrisse Ultra Crème Natural Dark Blonde Hair Color Work on Black Hair?
Permanent hair color cannot lift your shade more than a few levels, so Nutrisse Ultra Crème Natural Dark Blonde hair color will not lighten naturally black hair to dark blonde. We recommend lightening your hair beforehand.
How Can I Maintain My Natural Dark Blonde Hair Color?
To keep your dark natural blonde hair color looking fresh and vibrant, use color-safe, sulfate-free hair care products like Color Shield shampoo and conditioner, and always rinse with cool water to seal in the pigment. Protect your color and preserve tone by staying away from UV rays and hot tools (including the blow dryer).
Can I Use Ultra Crème Natural Dark Blonde Hair Color on Dyed or Bleached Hair?
Nutrisse Ultra Crème Natural Dark Blonde hair color can be applied to hair that has already been colored or lightened, but porous areas may absorb more pigment, thereby making the color look uneven. It’s best to perform a strand test before a full application.
Will Ultra Crème 70 Natural Dark Blonde Hair Color Appear Redder on Highly Porous Warm or Lightened Hair?
Hair that is porous may reveal warm or reddish undertones when using this dark natural blonde hair color, especially on pre-lightened sections. If you want to neutralize warmth before applying this shade, try using a pre-toner or a hair filler.
Does Ultra Crème 70 Natural Dark Blonde Hair Color Provide 100% Gray Coverage?
When applied as directed, all Nutrisse Ultra Crème shades—including 70 Natural Dark Blonde—are designed for 100% gray coverage. We recommend leaving the developer on for the full processing time to color stubborn grays.
How Long Should I Process Ultra Crème 70 Natural Dark Blonde Hair Color on Virgin Hair Compared to a Root Retouch?
On Virgin Hair, we recommend leaving Ultra Crème 70 Natural Dark Blonde hair color on for the full processing time (30–35 minutes). For a root touchup where you want to freshen up the ends as well, apply the dye to the regrowth first, and then refresh the lengths in the final minutes.
When Doing a Root Touchup, Should I Apply Ultra Crème 70 Natural Dark Blonde to the Ends or Only the Regrowth?
Root retouches only target the regrowth. If color refresh is also needed, apply it to the mid-lengths and ends in the final few minutes. Repeated coloring on a full head of hair can over-darken porous ends.
Do I Need to Do a Strand Test and Allergy Test Before Applying Ultra Crème 70 Natural Dark Blonde Hair Color?
Garnier recommends performing both a strand test and an allergy test before each use of this dark blonde hair dye. These tests are especially important when applying it to lightened, porous or unevenly colored hair. Standard hair color guidelines advise an allergy tests to ensure safe use.
How Many Boxes of Nutrisse Natural Dark Blonde Hair Color Do I Need for Long and/or Very Thick Hair?
Plan on using one box for short to medium hair, and two boxes for long, thick, or dense textures. Your goal is to achieve full saturation.
Is Ultra Crème 70 Natural Dark Blonde Hair Color Suitable for Relaxed, Permed, Keratin-Treated, or Henna-Treated Hair?
Chemically treated hair tends to process faster and absorb more deeply, whereas color results on henna-treated hair may be unpredictable. It is best to wait before dying if relaxers, perms or keratin treatments have been applied. Always perform a strand test before using this natural dark blonde hair color.
Will Nutrisse Ultra Crème 70 Natural Dark Blonde Hair Color Dry Out My Hair? What Conditioners or Masks Should I Use After Coloring?
Rest assured that Nutrisse Ultra Crème Natural Dark Blonde hair color is formulated with 5 fruit oils that nourish your hair while coloring. It’s easy to maintain softness after coloring by applying weekly hair masks and moisturizing conditioners.
How Soon After Using Ultra Crème 70 Natural Dark Blonde Hair Color Can I Heat Style, Swim or Spend Time in the Sun?
After applying this dark blonde hair dye, we recommend waiting 48–72 hours before heat styling or swimming to allow the color to fully cure. Wear UV protection and wash/style with color-care products for long-term vibrancy.
Does Hard Water Affect How Long Ultra Crème 70 Natural Dark Blonde Hair Color Stays Shiny?
Hard water with elevated calcium levels tends to dull blonde tones more quickly, especially on porous or previously lightened hair. To maintain tone and shine, occasionally use a clarifying or chelating shampoo followed by conditioner.

Beware of the ORANGE in the new formula!!!
LindaLoo82
I agree with the others. The previous formula 111 Extra Light Ash Blonde was perfect. This new White Chocolate turned my blonde hair the most disgusting and embarrassing ORANGE!Beware!!! I never had this happen before they changed it. It is not simply an image on the box change. I had to go get a salon color correction and it took 3 visits to get all the orange out. I'm out as a customer forever!

True color
I have been coloring my hair at home for over 10’years and lately the product I had been using left unwanted grays no matter how long I left it in. I tried this color from Garnier and I love it! No extra time needed to cover all my gray, the color is true to the box and my hair doesn’t feel damaged or dry. Very happy!
Yes, I recommend this product.

Color Name Change?
Didn't it used to be called Honey Dip? How long ago did the name change?
First, the Dark Natural Blond turns out much too golden compared to the pictures of Drew. I’ve used it multiple times and follow the directions exactly. Thoughts on what to do differently? And the formula is so thick that I have to bang it down into the sink before squeezing it onto my hair. Every time! So at the end of coloring, my sink has color all over it. I like how gentle the formula is on my hair.
Yes, I recommend this product.

HI there Sharon89, thank you so much for your review! We are absolutely thrilled to hear that you love how gentle the Nutrisse formula is on your hair—keeping your hair feeling soft and healthy is our top priority! Regarding the color, because everyone's natural hair pigments are unique, sometimes a shade can pull more of those warm, golden tones during the coloring process. If you prefer a cooler look, we highly recommend trying a shade with 'ash' or 'cool' in the name next time, as these tones are formulated to help neutralize and cancel out unwanted warmth! If we had a dark ash blonde, this sounds like it would be perfect for you. While this is a rich cream formula, it should not be so thick that you have to wrestle to get the mixture onto your hair. If you would like to speak to us directly about your recent purchase, give us a call @ 800-442-7643 9 AM to 5:30 PM ET M – F

I don't want to use anything but this color. It is perfect for me but it has been taken out of the stores such as, Walgreens, Wal-Mart and CVS. I love this product so please, please, please bring it back to the stores!!
80 Medium Natural Blonde worked great for covering gray roots & faded Platinum blond color. Gabe needed moisture to overall dried hair. Feel took color better than other color products used b4

Q: Why why why change 82 Champagne that was perfect. I’ve use it for 20 yrs and now my hairs ruined!!! Bring it back!!!
A: Hi there! We hear your frustration loud and clear, and I can only imagine how upsetting it must be when a beloved product you've relied on for two decades suddenly changes and no longer delivers the results you expect. To have your hair, which you've cared for with a specific shade for so long, feel "ruined" is truly a distressing experience. It's completely understandable that you feel so strongly about this and want the original "82 Champagne" back. We will report your feedback to our teams!

Q: My hair is almost completely white, so I tried number 93 to put some color back into it and it just was not enough. I’m always afraid to try darker shades because I don’t want my hair to turn gray. What would be a good shade darker than number 93 that I
Q: Does this hair dye contain bleach? I am doing a keratin hair treatment & want to make sure if I dye my hair after the keratin it wont strip the keratin out of my hair.
Q: Would this color: 811 - Medium Extra Ash Blonde, work for dark brown hair? I want to use this one but I’m afraid that this color won’t work on my hair. I’ve seen other ones available that have a high lift for dark hair but this the specific color I want.
Q: Why did you change the formula because now it’s almost impossible to get out of the tube and then when you put it in the bottle, it won’t squeeze out of the bottle either. I’ve tried everything that you recommended and this formula is awful.
A: Hi joymay! Thank you for your interest in Nutrisse Ultra Creme, 93-Light Golden Blonde.
A very long time ago we offered a product that has been discontinued now for quite some time! It was called 100% Color and there was a shade, 913-Light Beige Blonde. Regretfully we do not have a comparable shade to recommend.
Nutrisse Ultra Creme, 93-Light Golden Blonde, is a much warmer shade. To determine if this is the right shade for your hair type, please check the shade selection guide on the box, to see if your natural hair color is one of the three before pics. If you are not one of the three, your result will vary!
