About This Shade
Garnier Nutrisse shade 90, Light Natural Blonde (Macadamia), is a pure, natural light blonde shade that is one level lighter than Nutrisse Medium Natural Blonde 80 (Butternut). This shade will allow your natural tones to show and provides 100% gray coverage.
Is This Shade Right For Me?
Macadamia is best for anyone with natural hair between light blonde and dark blonde. If you would like a lighter shade that still reflects naturally, shade 100 Extra Light Natural Blonde (Chamomile) might be for you. If you would like to remain in the light blonde range but would like to explore other reflects and tones, shade 93 Light Golden Brown (Honey Butter) might be for you.
For anyone who currently has color treated hair, there are special considerations for the color result you can achieve. Because of this, we do not recommend shade 90 for hair that has been previously colored 70 Dark Natural Blonde (Almond Creme) or darker. I have been coloring my hair at home for over 10’years and lately the product I had been using left unwanted grays no matter how long I left it in. I tried this color from Garnier and I love it! No extra time needed to cover all my gray, the color is true to the box and my hair doesn’t feel damaged or dry. Very happy!

I would give it a zero if I could,might hair I had colored a light brown a few months back so I was happy with the color and decided to use this,absolutely horrible I turned my hair brownish red and brassy looking also,I’m so unhappy,plus i ended up with dark roots on top and I also need to cover up my gray hair on top as well,Im thinking about going to a medium ash blonde color,but im nervous to change it to another color as that happened,

Much too golden and thick

First, the Dark Natural Blond turns out much too golden compared to the pictures of Drew. I’ve used it multiple times and follow the directions exactly. Thoughts on what to do differently? And the formula is so thick that I have to bang it down into the sink before squeezing it onto my hair. Every time! So at the end of coloring, my sink has color all over it. I like how gentle the formula is on my hair.

All natural haircolor that is darker than pale blonde has red and gold pigments. When you lighten your natural color, these warm gold and red pigments are revealed. When it's time to do your retouch choose a shade with "Ash" to minimize the warm undertones. For e.g. Ash Blonde, Medium Ash Blonde, Dark Ash Blonde!

New formula is very yellowy and very unattractive

This color was reformulated . The new 'richer color' makes one's hair very yellow-ish. It is vastly different and much less flattering than the original white chocolate. Why do companies want to sabotage their own successful products? I do not and will not buy this anymore.

I am new to Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Cream, I’ve used L’Oréal for years, but now I can not, their formula is not thick rich and creamy…it is thin and runny and drips!!! I read some great reviews about Garnier and thought I would try it! I have light golden blonde hair but with gray hair coming in thought I’d go lighter!!! I love the results of using the (100) Extra Light Natural Blonde!!! I have had so many compliments on my new color and my thin fine hair feels great…like it has more body!!!! Change 82 back please!

Why was shade 82 changed?! It was perfect, as it processed it had green tones which I loved because it canceled out warmer tones but now it’s more violet and it doesn’t even match the rest of my hair! I’ve used that color for years and now I have to go find a new color. My touch up looks horrible now and have to spend more money to fix it

I don’t understand why people in this review section are crying. lol.. this blonde shade is perfect and if they did change the formula then wow it’s amazing the old garnier would make my hair orange. I decided to give them a second try and wow I was mind blown with the shade 100!!!! I get compliments daily! It took my brown hair to super light blonde with a few applications. Garnier don’t listen to these reviews please keep this formula it’s amazing! I have saved thousands of dollars not having to go to the salon!

This is horrible

I purchase from Amazon, so it has only been my last order that I got this new formula. It is truly awful and I will not purchase again. In fact I'll be throwing out the other 3 boxes, which is a waste of money but there is no way I am putting this on my hair again. This has been my go to color for years as it is just a shade lighter than my natural color but I'll switch another brand.
As others have said - the formula is THICK. I had a hard time getting it out of the bottle and an even harder time saturating my hair with it. I have shoulder length hair and this is the first time I have ever needed to use the entire bottle. The formula dried iny hair, did not cover greys, and the color is AWFUL and UNEVEN. The beautiful light golden blonde color is no more. It's much much lighter, with spots looking more like the lightest ultra blinde shade. There is some of the golden blonde tones, but again, much lighter than before, and the color is splotchy and just looks cheap. It looks like home hair dye, not the the gorgeous natural from before. I did zero things different. Truly awful product with the new formula.

Horrible and a waste of money

You ruined the 100 and 111 blonde. I had a beautiful blonde with no brass or damage. Who cares if it drips. It worked. This new version had made me color my hair twice now and going on 3 to get the same results. Bad move and I am moving on to exploring Loreal cream blonde colors.

Says 100% gray coverage. I haven’t colored my hair in over 6 months. The color that I used previously faded to a pale golden blonde. My natural color is now mostly white. I had several inches of outgrowth. I wanted it to match so I used #93, light golden blonde. I followed the directions and came away with very poor results- my white outgrowth is still white and the faded out looks the same as it did before coloring.

when corporate greed ruins your brand

first you recently changed up the colors some.. So I can't get the shade right. Second.. Thicker formula or not comparing an old box to a newer one, you are putting far less in. I could do all my hair in one bottle before.. now it takes 2. Same amount of hair, less product.... I will likely switch brands after this application. I would rather pay 2-3 dollars more to do my hair, rather than double, needing to buy a second box

This is not the experience we want you to have with this haircolor! There has been no change to the color, however, Nutrisse was recently reformulated as a thicker, non-drip cream. The amount of product in the kit has not changed, but since the formula is thicker, you may not be able to spread the application over the amount of hair you have. Love this color!...but so hard to find in stores.

I have light brown hair with quite a bit of gray (maybe 50/50?). I opt for the extra ash because I have red tones in my hair and don't want an orange/yellow tone. The ash works perfectly to balance my red tones, and the ash also is bright on the gray making it appear as if I have natural highlights sprinkled throughout my hair. I love it so much but wish it was in stock at more stores so I didn't have to buy it online.

Have used 10.01 for many many years. Now less product its too thick! AND it's weaker, I'm having to colour far more often. Will be looking for better value product elsewhere now.

I always had comments on my hair how beautiful the color is (#82 Champagne Fizz) BRING IT BACK!!! I had to go to a salon and pay a fortune and my hair looks awful!! Can I still buy this one? Tried the substitute and it was harsh and brassy 🤦♀️. My hair was so pretty before 🥲

It came out reddish

I used this shade 7 for many years, and it was wonderful, calm, truly natural blond. Covered grays well also. About a year ago (when they put Drew on the box) it started to come out as a strange reddish blond… the gray coverage diminished and the dye now is very thick. It looks like many other reviewers had the same problem. I will try light ash brown, but if that comes out disturbingly red, I am going to switch brands.

I have used #73 Honey Dip for years because it’s so pretty and easy to use. This new design box has a different mixture in it, the cream is too hard. It’s hard to get out and it doesn’t seem to mix well or activate. My color is darker and mousier than it used to be. I don’t want to but I’ll have to use a different brand for my dark golden blonde hair color. Can you please go back to the original ingredients? I miss it!

I have used this color for a while and always loved it but idk it left me hair almost reddish and it looks bad. I have a trip planned in less than a month and it looks like I’m going to have to get it fixed professionally.

Seriously hate this brand every time I try one of their dyes I regret it. I have natural dirty blonde hair and was trying to go lighter just a few shades and this turned my hair yellowish orange I’m beyond livid

Well is the first time that I use this one. I usually use the Oila #7… between going to my hairdresser, I love the color they didn’t have at my Walgreens so I saw this one … for my stories the thickness of the product is a little bizarre but you get use to it. But my biggest concern is that my hair is like a strawberry blonde. Has a lot of pigmentation of red when should be more dark blonde. I’m going to wait and see when I wash it if goes away the red and gets more dark. Because this is no a dark blonde. I think you guys have to check with the colorist because is no dark blonde. In a good point it covers the gray . But very disappointed with the results.

This is my go-to hair color and I've used it for years. Goes on easy, doesn't burn like other hair products have in the past. Coverage (on my grey) is good and lasts a decent amount of time. It does commonly 'change' on me. At first the color is vibrant and darker (pic with hat) and gradually, it lightens to a brighter blonde, (pic w/out hat). I like the shades just fine regardless of the fading/lightening.

Have used 80 BUTTERNUT for over seven years and know what to expect. The replacement color is quite a bit DARKER and I hate it! Why do companies have to change what has worked forever?! SERIOUSLY GARNIER?!

Disappointing-Frustrating-Messy-Cheapened-NoGood

Have been a Garnier, New Nutrisse ultra creme hair color product user for near 15 years. Used it today and was so disappointed in the darkened shade my hair turned and how little grey coverage this formula provided. I've used extra light (111) ash blonde for years.
The application was very difficult and messy. Difficult to squeeze step 2 tube colorant into the bottle, difficult to apply the color as the applicator became clogged with just about every squeeze.I had to stop to shake the bottle, squeeze to unclog it, then when I squeezed, it squirted out in a clumps all over me and the counter!! This squirting occurred 4 times during the process. I was lucky not to have product get in my eyes. I would not purchase again. Product overpriced and a significantly cheapened product.

Similar to another reviewer, my hair is dark brown at the roots with a lighter color dyed towards the ends. I have a few grays at the front I really wanted to cover. I started at the roots in the front of my hair and left the dye on for 35-45 min. It’s sooo dark now, DID NOT LIGHTEN THE ROOTS and 0 gray coverage. Will not buy again.

New formula is horrendous…DO NOT BUY!!

The new formula is terrible. I don’t have sensitive skin but the new formula burns like crazy, I get a bad rash all down my neck and it made my hair snap off. Terrible product now. The old formula I was using for 10+ years and it was perfect every time. Please go back to the old formula or you will lose a lot of customers. The thickness of the product is a terrible reason because the original formula was fine, it didn’t drip at all.

All natural haircolor that is darker than pale blonde has red and gold pigments. When you lighten your natural color, these warm gold and red pigments are revealed. With most single-process permanent haircolors, you can lighten your hair only up to two shades lighter than your natural color without exposing these warm tones. If a brassy result is still achieved, the shade used may have been too light for your starting color.
To correct this, after 48 hours and only if your hair is in good condition, you will need to color again with a darker shade. If you have any additional questions or would like to speak with one of our haircolor experts directly, please reach back out via the 800 number on the box.
