Amazing!

I've been on the market for a new hair oil that was less expensive and came across this. Needless to say, it caught my eye. So I decided to try it and fell in love with it first try. I've tried many hair oils before, and I love this. It's on the light side, which works better for my hair. It also is smoothing, moisturizing (but not too much), makes my hair shiny, and less tangely!!! Best hair product I've bought in a while!! Would buy again! (If I ever go through this bottle! A little goes a long way!)

No Good for Damage Repair

I love Garnier products for styling my curly hair. However, I started to damage some of my hair with frequent heat styling. As Garnier being my go to product, I tried this Moroccan Sleek Oil Treatment for the purpose of damage repair. Honestly, it did nothing. However, the oil does work well to tame frizzy hair and make it soft and shiny. Rather, I grabbed a bottle of Loreal Overnight repair cream, and it worked wonders. It actually repaired my damaged hair in about two nights.

Awful

Terrible makes your hair dry and brittle this broke me out in hives and gave me an instant migraine. The fact it has a warning label about being a fire hazard should have steered me away from using it in the first place. DO NOT BIY

Old formula was 100x better, very disappointed.

This product used to be perfect and my go to for 5 years as the staple to my hair care, but the newest formula isn't performing NEARLY as well as the past formula (pre 2024). The new one not only makes my hair feel quite greasy (I naturally have DRY-moderate hair on the oily scale) but at the same time weighed down and dry? The smell is nowhere near as good as the old formula if this new one even has a scent at all, and is totally a big waste IMO if you use anything more than a half a drop. It has the shine aspect, but at the cost of extremely heavy and greasy hair. Im most likely returning mine to the store I got it from simply out of disappointment in the drastic changes in not only the ingredients but also overall quality.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Love this product! I have wavy hair on the sides and curly hair in the back. I put a little thats all you need on my hands and run thru my wet hair. After I blow dry and straighten my hair, i use a dab more on the ends of my hair. The product smells so good!

New version leaves hair limp and greasy looking

This new version is terrible - it weighs down my hair and makes it look greasy and limp. The old version was perfect. I’m disappointed I’m going to have to find another product.

It works, but smells terrible

This is one of the only products I've found that makes my fried, dry hair look healthier. I put some on my hair after towel drying and it makes it less frizzy when it dries. I also use it on dry hair and it makes the hair smoother and healthier looking. The one thing I really dislike is the smell. IT'S BAD. It's kind of medicinal, like a flea treatment for pets or an old men's shaving cream. I love the citrus-y smell of other Garner products--not sure why they couldn't figure out a better smell for this--it's really unpleasant!

Ingredient change? Biological changes? Unsure

This used to be my absolute go to I would choose this over any salon hair oil literally every time shopping for oil. It always left my hair A1 every single time, I swore by this up and down. I don’t truly know what happened if anything has changed with the product itself, maybe they changed some ingredients but it has recently started to leave my hair feeling greasy and heavy. I changed every single hair product before I realized that it was actually this that was doing something to my hair. Really missing the old results.. will still give 3 star because this was an absolute staple to my daily hair routine. I have used this for over 10 years and this is the first time I’ve had a negative experience. Maybe my biology changed over the years, I have virgin hair down to my waist at the moment. Just really confused about what has changed about this oil.

Product softens hair.

i love this product. it works well and it softens hair, but rather than moisturizing hair, it sits on top of it and eventually evaporates in humidity. biggest con of this product; doesn't moisturize thick, coarse (dry) hair. best for fine, straight/wavy hair types.

Very Strong Fragrance

Don't buy this product if you are sensitive to fragrance. The chemical smell is overpowering, giving me a headache and making it difficult to breath. It does smooth our dry, winter hair but the reaction to the fragrance is unacceptable. I will not buy this or any fructis products again.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Why does this product and your other products contain alcohol? I love your products at first, but then my hair is breaking off and becoming dry. I think your products are close to perfect except for the alcohol.

1 Answer
  • A: Hi JuCa, Thanks for reaching out! Alcohol may be present in many categories of hair, cosmetic and hygiene products such as hair styling products, foundations, perfumes and deodorants. It facilitates the penetration of active ingredients and promotes the deposit of ingredients on the skin or hair. We thank you for your interest in Garnier!

Q: What is the purpose of parabens in this leave-in product? What other ingredients are in this that are not good for color treated or fine hair? Is it better to add to conditioner then rinse out?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello Slan. Thank you for using our Sleek & Shine Moroccan Sleek Smoothing Oil. Parabens act as a preservative and are derived from an acid which naturally occurs in many fruits and vegetables. Safe ranges for the use of parabens in cosmetics have been established around the world, and without them, GARNIER products could spoil and become harmful to you. We are continuously working to develop innovative formulas that are less vulnerable to microbial contamination, while also limiting the use of parabens, always keeping your safety a top priority, and ensuring GARNIER maintains its superior quality delivered to you. We hope this information was helpful! How to use: After using Sleek & Shine shampoo and conditioner, apply a small amount of smoothing oil treatment to wet, damp or dry hair. In the shower for added conditioning, apply it when you condition your hair. Out of the shower, work it through damp hair as a leave-in for softness and easy styling. After blow drying, use it to tame frizz and add shine.

Q: I LOVE the scent of this product!!! Works good on permed hair. Do you have any other products with this same scent? My chemistry does not work well with fruit type scents and everyone makes their products apple scented. This oil is a blessing for me.

Q: Can this be used on very fine, thin, damaged hair?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Sara! The Sleek & Shine Moroccan Sleek Oil Treatment shampoo and conditioner is ideal for hair that is average in thickness and dry. For fine, thin hair we recommend the Coconut Water + Vanilla Milk shampoo and conditioner or the Oat Delicacy blend. https://www.garnierusa.com/en/about-our-brands/whole-blends/coconut-vanilla-hydrating https://www.garnierusa.com/en/about-our-brands/whole-blends/gentle-oat-delicacy
