About Olia Unlike traditional hair dye, Olia uses a 60% oil blend with no ammonia natural flower oils to achieve brilliant, radiant color results. The oil powered technology propels colorants deep into the hair, giving you vivid, long-lasting color. Olia visibly improves and restores hair as the oils help to reverse roughness and dullness for more brilliant, long-lasting color. Olia-treated hair is hydrated, silky, and up to 3X shinier than unwashed, uncolored hair.
Instructions of Use
Close subpanel
The non-drip, velvety cream texture of Olia helps provide optimal comfort during application. The hair dye kit includes everything you need: a developer applicator, a colorant tube, after-color conditioner, a set of gloves, and the instruction sheet. Follow the instruction sheet for the step-by-step process or watch our how-to videos below:
How is Olia different than Nutrisse and other at-home hair coloring kits?
Olia is formulated with no ammonia and 60% oils that are concentrated in the colorant itself to boost the coloring process by propelling color deep into the hair fiber. The oil-based formula prevents damage and leaves hair visibly healthier looking and 3x shinier. Nutrisse is formulated with a blend of five fruit oils resulting in a rich color while nourishing your hair.
Is Olia less effective than a hair color with ammonia?
No, even though Olia does not contain ammonia, it's just as effective as other hair colors that have ammonia. Olia is formulated with 60% oils for 3x shinier, visibly healthier looking hair.
How long will Olia's hair color last before fading?
Olia is a permanent hair color, lasting until your hair grows out or is cut. However, like all permanent colors, it will gradually fade with washing and as new hair grows.
How much product should I use?
The amount of product needed depends on hair length and thickness. It's recommended to purchase more than one kit, especially if it is your first time dying your hair.
How long should I wait between washing my hair and applying hair dye?
For optimal results, we recommend waiting at least 24 hours to dye your hair after shampooing. This will help to prevent any potential reactions on the scalp after hair color application.
Does hair dye expire?
Garnier hair color is tested to be effective for up to three years. If the product mixture isn't runny or lumpy, it is still good to use.

I have used this product for years. I am 73 and my hair still looks like a natural blonde. This leaves my hair shiny and well conditioned. Please don't discontinue this color. I have had a hard time finding it.

A few minutes ago, I dyed my hair this color. Afterwards, you could clearly see the ends very damaged and falling off. My hair has been recently cut so seeing it broken after dyeing it could only mean the product was responsible for the damage. I'll sadly have to go tomorrow to get it cut up to my shoulders. In the picture, you can see the damage and brushing it and with slight touches, it falls.

Pleasantly surprised, I got box color results!
I was so nervous to try and color my light brown hair that was color treated. It had been 6 months since my last color, but I used a professional custom home service and it was never quite right. My hair pulls red easily and I have to tone a lot. I have a lot of chemical sensitivities so the semi permanent colors had more of an effect on my skin than the permanent because they washed out and I was exposed every wash. I just can't do ammonia or bleach anymore because of asthma and dry scalp. I can't afford the salons and have been cutting my hair and doing my own color since the pandemic in 2020. I watched a lot of color theory videos and many try on simulations for every company. I was prepared to suffer through an ammonia process until I saw this and saw that it had no silicones and parabens, which I have to strictly avoid in all products now. I can't find it anywhere on the box, but I am sure I read somewhere that Olia doesn't pull brass and that's why I chose it. The try on tool was also very useful in choosing the color. I did go with the lighter color as suggested. My light brown/dark blonde was very dull from medical issues. I wasn't expecting more than a shine and really expecting a reddish dark blonde as that's usual for my hair. I can't believe I got the box color results. I chose the lightest ash blonde hoping it would be enough coolness to give me a golden natural blonde with no brass. I got the darkest results color on the box and I'm so happy. I did use one purple tone rinse before I dried it the first time, but I didn't need it. It was a temporary one and actually dulled the final result a little. The second wash I held off the purple and used a good shampoo to clarify and it's so much shinier and brighter. I followed the directions exactly with very dirty hair and timing, though my hair is so short I really do an all over application quickly and then let it set for the full time. I am so happy with this result. Now I wonder if I use the same color or go to the 9 so it doesn't go blonder. I guess my roots will still need this color. My hair feels nice and my scalp is not drier than before. Since I can avoid toners it's a win and I can work on my scalp in between colors. My hair is short because of thin patches after menopause and medication. I don't have gray yet, so this gentle color gives me time to grow my hair back. I really recommend trying it if you need a gentle color and want to avoid brass. I'm allergic to nearly everything in beauty. I did do a patch test and strand test, though my strand test was darker than my beautiful final result, probably because my mixture was off.
10.0 very light blonde is the BEST hair dye, ever!

Hands down the best hair dye I’ve ever used. The color match is perfect and it blends seamlessly with the white streak at the top left of my hairline. I also love how gentle it is—no harshness, and my hair and scalp feel healthy and soft after each use.
I have tried all hair coloring brands. Olia is the one I will Stay true to. The color is very natural. I get compliments all the time. Please keep producing this hair dye
Okay so here’s the thing… I think this didn’t really work for me because my hair is already that color. Oops. The coverage seemed okay, my hair was maybe a tiny bit lighter afterwards and it wasn’t patchy at all, but it also didn’t do much. The conditioner was really nice though and smelled good- my hair didn’t seem stripped after using it and I think the conditioner made it shinier. Probably a great product if you have hair where you can tell that you did something to it afterwards.

I used Garnier Olia 10.0 Very Light Blonde and found it easy to apply with clear instructions. The formula felt gentle on my scalp with no strong smell or irritation. The color came out even and left my hair feeling soft instead of dry. Overall, it gave me a nice light blonde with minimal damage

I think this was okay. It wasn’t my favorite but I like how there was no ammonia! We used it on my sisters hair and it didn’t dry it out. In fact, I was
surprised that it looked pretty healthy still after!
I tried this on my hair and the color was actually pretty. I am not usually a fan of box hair dye but I will give this dye a 10/10. My hair felt soft after rinsing out the dye.
Q: I have about 3 inches of dark brown roots and my ends are blonde but dull looking. I haven't been able to dye my hair in months. I've never used Garnier before either. My question is will this box dye make my hair all one color? Thanks, Bonnie

Q: How light will this color get on medium brown hair also will it have any red tones in it?
A: Hi Steph70, Using Olia 10.0 Very Light Blonde on Medium Brown hair will likely result in brassy, orange, or reddish-brown tones rather than a true blonde. We suggest trying Olia B+++ - Bleach Blonde Extreme Hair Dye Lightening kit with 7 levels of lift for brilliant, long-lasting blonde results. We hope this information helps!

Q: I bought the B bleach blonde lightening kit. I haven't used it yet. The directions don't have any mention of using a toner after the bleaching process. I don't want to end up with brassy gold roots. Is toner do-able with this lightening formula?

Q: I previously dyed my hair, which turned my hair from black to very dark brown, so if I use this dye, what colour would it most likely turn out to be?
A: Hello lokey, Unfortunately hair dye cannot lighten previously colored hair. Hair dye deposits color, it doesn't lift or remove existing color. If you would like us to help please call Garnier @ 800-442-7643 M-F 9:00am 5:30pm ET., and provide case # 42363969. We look forward to your call!

Q: Is this ppd free
Reeese808a year ago
1 AnswerAnswer this Question
A: Hi Reeese808, Thanks for reaching out! Bleaching products typically don't contain para-phenylenediamine (PPD) because they lighten hair instead of adding color. However, bleach can still irritate the scalp. Please look at the ingredient list. Thanks for your interest in Garnier!
A: Hello shaybae, thanks for reaching out! The Olia 10.0 - Very Light Blonde is the lightest Olia color without bleach. It will lighten your natural hair up to 3 shades lighter without bleaching. Shade 10.0 is best for anyone with natural hair between light blonde and dark blonde.

Q: Why does lifting black hair make you have red hair? I thought this bleach could lift seven levels.
juij2 years ago
1 AnswerAnswer this Question
A: Hi there Juij, we can see this wouldn’t be the result you were hoping for. Black is the hardest color to lighten, even for salon pros. Seven levels is not enough to bring black hair to a blonde. For black hair its more like 10 or 11 levels.
