Instructions of Use

This permanent blonde hair dye kit includes everything you need: developer, applicator, colorant tube, after-color conditioner, gloves, and step-by-step directions with QR codes to 3 how-to videos.

Application Instructions:

1. Mix Color
Apply gloves, snap off tip and remove the cap of the Developer Bottle and add Colorant, and shake vigorously.

2. Apply

For full head application:
Start applying at your roots, separating hair section by section. Then, apply through lengths and ends ensuring hair is completely saturated.

For root touchup:
Use bottle to separate hair section by section and apply to your new growth, starting at any resistant gray areas.

3. Process

For full head application:
Leave on hair for 30 minutes.

For root touchup:
Leave on roots for 20 minutes, then use remaining mixture to saturate lengths and ends for 10 minutes (30 minutes total).

4. Rinse & Condition
Before rinsing, massage your hair. Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear. Apply conditioner and leave on for 2-5 min before rinsing. You can use remaining conditioner weekly until next coloring.

  • Olia shade 7.0 is an ammonia-free permanent blonde hair dye that typically lasts 4–6 weeks, depending on hair porosity and how often you wash your hair. As the color naturally grows out, Olia’s 60% oil-powered formula helps maintain softness and shine.
  • Olia is formulated for excellent results on all hair types and textures, including waves, curls, and coils. The oil-rich cream developer helps nourish textured hair while evenly depositing pigments.
  • Olia contains dark blonde hair color pigments developed to resist fading. However, permanent blonde hair dye shades may become slightly softer with time. You can delay any fading and keep the tone bright by washing with a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner, as well as avoiding exposure to heat (hot water, styling tools, etc.).
  • Since this Olia shade is a Level 7 dark blonde hair color, it will not lift black hair to the dark blonde results shown without lightening. If you want a true 7.0 color on black hair, we recommend lightening your hair beforehand.
  • To keep your dark blonde hair color looking fresh and vibrant, use color-safe, sulfate-free hair care products like Color Shield shampoo and conditioner, and always rinse with cool water to seal in the pigment. Protect your color and preserve tone by staying away from UV rays and hot tools (including the blow dryer).
  • Olia 7.0 Dark Blonde hair color can be applied to hair that has already been colored or lightened, but porous areas may absorb more pigment, thereby making the color look slightly different. It’s best to perform a strand test before a full application to see how warm or deep this Olia shade will be.
  • Will Olia 7.0 Dark Blonde Hair Color Appear Redder on Highly Porous Warm or Lightened Hair? Hair that is very porous, warm or pre-lightened may reveal gold or reddish undertones when using this dark blonde hair color. If you are aiming for a neutral dark blonde, this red-pull effect may be avoided by using a pre-toner or a hair filler.
  • Even though Olia is an ammonia-free hair color range, it is formulated for 100% gray coverage. We recommend leaving the developer on for the full processing time to color stubborn grays.
  • To achieve even lift and saturation on virgin hair, leave on this Olia dark blonde hair color shade for the full recommended processing time. For a root touchup, apply the dye to the regrowth first, and then refresh the lengths in the final minutes (if needed).
  • Root retouches only target the regrowth. Pull the color to the ends briefly if you want to refresh the tone. Over time, repeated coloring on a full head of hair can deepen the color of the ends.
  • Garnier recommends performing both a strand test and an allergy test before each use of this permanent blonde hair dye. These tests are especially important when applying it to lightened or porous hair. A patch test will ensure the application is safe and irritation-free when using this ammonia-free formula.
  • As a general guideline, plan on using one box for short to medium hair, and two boxes for long, thick, or dense textures. The key to even blonde color is to achieve full saturation.
  • Chemically treated hair tends to process faster and absorb more deeply, whereas color results on henna-treated hair may be unpredictable. It is best to wait before dying if relaxers, perms or keratin treatments have been applied. Always perform a strand test before using this dark blonde hair color.

  • Hard water with elevated calcium levels tends to dull blonde tones more quickly, especially on porous or previously lightened hair. To maintain clarity and shine, occasionally use a clarifying or chelating shampoo followed by conditioner.
