Is Shade 54 right for you?
Garnier Nutrisse shade 54, "Medium Natural Copper," is a red shade with copper reflects that will leave you with warm results while providing 100% gray coverage. Shade 54 is best for anyone with natural hair between dark blonde and darkest brown.

Our other copper shades include 643, "Light Natural Copper," and 74, "Lightest Intense Copper." If you'd prefer to stay in the medium brown range but would like to explore other reflects and tones, there are many shades to choose form including 50, 51, 53, 535, and 56.

*For women with currently color treated hair, there are special considerations for the color result you can achieve. Because of this, we do not recommend shade 54 for hair that has been previously colored shade 30, "Darkest Brown," or darker. For more help, use our Shade Selector Tool to find the perfect shade for you!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst mistake ever! I purchased this colour today as I'm naturally ginger and wanted to add a bit more warmth, only for my hair to turn black!! I've spent 3 hours crying and will now cost me a fortune to repair. As a qualified hair dresser I'm disgusted this product is available!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from DO NOT DISCONTINUE! I've been buying this color for a while now - please do not discontinue. It seems to be the only natural looking red hair color on the market!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Please don't discontinue! I have been using Garnier Nutrisse exclusively for years. I started with #56 med. reddish brown and then tried the bolder reds. The bold one's make me look like a leprechaun with my olive green eyes. The auburn one's are okay but darker than I would like. Then I found this recently. It is my perfect hair color. My hair has maybe 50% gray. Rest of hair is brown/dark brown. Don't know why others say it makes their hair dark. It was light on my hair, but not too light or too red. Looked completely natural, and extremely flattering. Anything lighter than this would be too light on me. Unfortunately I will have to switch hair color brands to achieve this color. Am very disappointed to lose my perfect hair color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PLEASE DON'T DISCONTINUE. Please don't discontinue this color. This is the only copper that looks natural for me and keeps the color. Since I'm totally grey and need to do roots every three weeks, I will need to buy as many as I can. Please reconsider.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved this color! I absolutely loved this color. It was long lasting for me. Unfortunately it's discontinued and I don't know what to buy now. So disappointed to find a color I loved and then lose it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy this color!!! Just finished coloring my hair. Disappointed doesn't begin to cover it. My hair isn't even close to a copper color, it's now dark brown!!! I wish I would have read these reviews before buying this product because I would have used another brand. Now I have to figure out how to fix this mess. Thanks!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Medium Natural copper I am a natural light copper. But need to color it as I age. Alone, this color is so dark. So, I use half medium copper and light copper for roots. Still dark, but can see the copper. Then I comb through the light natural copper. I have darker roots and lighter overall color. I have received many compliments on the overall color, even though it's darker than my normal color. You can play with the different shades of copper and hopefully come up with what you want. I use one o those little medicine cups to measure it out. Write down each one until you find the perfect shade for you.
