Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Crème 20 Soft Black hair dye (Black Tea) produces natural color results and provides 100% gray coverage. Its non-drip color crème formula works on all textures for hair that is silkier, nourished, and twice as shiny as when it’s uncolored and unwashed.
Fortified with ColorBoost technology, this permanent hair dye shade is deeply infused inside the fiber for richer, radiant, long-lasting color. All Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Crème hair color kits come with a double dose of nourishment: a fruit oil ampoule to add to the developer-color mixture and an after-color conditioner with five responsibly-sourced oils: avocado, olive, coconut, argan, and shea.
As a soft black hair dye, it is two shades lighter than 10 Black (Licorice) and one shade lighter than 11 Blackest Black. For best results, choose Ultra Crème 20 Soft Black hair dye if your natural hair is between light brown and black. This particular shade of Garnier Nutrisse hair dye is not recommended for color-treated hair because the results are unpredictable.

EVERYTHING HAS ME SCREAMING IN JOY

OK. So, I'm a hair fanatic and I have done many many colors and have had both good and bad experiences with certain hair company's hair dyes and only ever once got it done at a salon. I decided to dye my hair and I was ehh about going into the process because I've never liked doing my hair because the fumes are so strong that it gives me a headache and watery eyes. BUT!!! This dye saVED ME. It both killed me and then resurrected me. #SHOOK (I apologize im 17 aha) ANYWAYS!! It smelled hecka good when i was dying my hair and It didn't give me a headache or stink up my bathroom. I, of course, got dye on my fair and shoulders, etc. I cursed the gods for that because I have to literally scrub my skin till it turns red as heck to get off hair dye but this dye came off with literally water and no soap!!! IM SO HAPPY! Also, hair gets a kinda nasty crunchy feeling but BAM the second the water hit my hair it was smooth, soft and felt so good. The small bottle on conditioner was amazing!! My hair smells amazing unlike other times when my hair smells like chemicals!!
I am in love and will forever buy this product in the future along with other products by this company!!! HIGH RECOMMEND !!! ((Plus, an eco-friendly box?? YES PLEASE!!))

Green tint

I have used the black tea color hair dye for several years with excellent results, however they last two times I've used this dye, my hair has a green tint to it. It's terrible. I don't know what they company has changed, but the color has a definite green tint to it. It's not a good look. I would not recommend using this color. Time for me to find a different brand.

Ugly green hue!
I have used color 20-soft black for more than 10 years and loved it. But the past few times I tried it (I'm a slow learner, apparently), it turned my hair an ugly green. Since I have very long hair and have to buy two boxes each time, it's too costly to keep trying. I'm so disappointed, since this has been my favorite for so long! I tried contacting Garnier by email to ask for suggestions but have not heard back, which is why I found myself here and now see that others have experienced the green hue as well. With no response from Garnier, I guess I will have to find a new color and brand.
No, I do not recommend this product.

best hair dye I’ve tried
I’ve got super sensitive scalp and temperamental hair- i mean ‘gets dry and tangly when you look at it wrong’ temperamental. This hair dye somehow colours my hair perfectly, doesn’t hurt my scalp, and makes my hair soft and smell nice after dyeing. If i could give more than five stars, i would.
I have been using this hair dye for a decade now. I switch between soft black and darkest brown. Within the last year everytime I color my hair it appears green under certain lighting. It is no longer taking the color to my grays. Not sure if they have changed the formula, but unfortunately I can no longer continue to use this brand.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Great color coverage
This product was very easy use, the dye is a little heavy trying to get out of the bottle but overall it was easy to apply. I was able to cover all grays with easy and did not damage my hair. Look forward to using it again. I do have dark brown/ black hair so it worked very well.
You changed the formula. It wasn’t broke, yet your brilliant team decided to ruin it. 1) it’s so awfully thick that it’s miserable to dispense. 2) it smells much stronger. 3) the color I always used for many years, 600, let my hair reddish and after a week, a God awful brassy orange. 4) my scalp suffered burns that I’ve never had before. 5) now my hair is falling out. 6) I hope you get sued.

Dream hair and crazy wrong reviews
I went from red to this color. It was an easy application. I originally thought that the color wasn’t going to show up in the bottom half of my hair but it actually did. I have no idea what the reviews about it turning hair green because I didn’t get that experience. It must be that the formula looks green when you first put it on but like I said my hair didn’t come out like that. My little sister wanted to see me in this color and I must say it was a dream of mine to have blue black hair. This product made it come true. My boyfriend even likes it and he didn’t really like my red hair when we met. So for all those saying that it turns green I’m sorry but I have to say you’re wrong. This color will forever be my go to color.
Absolutely terrible.. Color says soft black but indeed is green. I've used this brand and color before never having a problem but this time. I have green tined hair & roots. How can I fix this without doing damage to my hair.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: Our products are tested to have at least a 3-year shelf life if unopened and stored at normal room temperature. During this time, they should retain their integrity and perform as expected. If your product looks and smells normal, it's likely still good to use. Some products, like sunscreens, may have an expiration date printed on them.

Q: Do you need to wash hair before dying your hair
A: Hi Nets! Thank you for inquiring about using Nutrisse Ultra Creme. This haircolor should be applied to dry unwashed hair. If you have a build-up of styling products in your hair, we recommend shampooing 24 hours before coloring. Your hair should be dry and tangle free. Please feel free to reach out again if you have more questions or feedback to share!

Q: hii so i have honey blonde highlights that have my roots showing my roots are a medium brown color, will this cover all the shades of my hair up so its all just black?
A: Hi there! Going darker over highlighted/ bleached hair is tricky. If any of the hair is a pale blonde, it may well turn out with discolored results such as gray, green, pink or purple. To avoid odd discolored results on the bleached hair you need to custom mix 2 colors together to get a natural looking result. To get a formula you can mix and use at home, call our 800# to speak to one of our haircolor specialists. Our number is 800-442-7643 our hours are from 9 AM to 5:00 PM ET M – F
