TRY ON THIS SHADE

NUTRISSE ULTRA COLOR V2 - Dark Intense Violet

I will first say I absolutely LOVE this color! It's so complementary to any skin tone. It definitely leans more towards to magenta pink end of the spectrum rather than the lilac in the haircolor box. The application was nice. Pretty easy to work around my hair and enough to get the job done (I have medium length, thin, curly hair). The gloves were useless. The smell, however was BAD! I mean so strong you could smell it from the bathroom to the front door when my son got home! It heated up a little at the scalp but nothing too concerning, just wheww! No amount of scented oil can cover that ammonia scent! The after conditioner just made my hair frizz. Not a fan so ended up using my own. It's a cute bottle though. As for the color, it gave a nice even distribution even on the grey root area whereas quite often it can go a whole other level. Pre-color my hair was a mixture of browns, reddish blonde and silver at the roots. I hadn't colored it in about 4 months before using this. After some quick fading it became a mixture of lighter magenta with some medium red-violet. It gave a great even application at first and surprisingly had excellent grey coverage! I have gotten so many compliments on it and by people who don't really like "bold" colors. (Even my conservative Mom!) It's actually a perfect color for someone testing the waters of a bold color. My only problem with it is that it acts like a temporary, demi, or semi, not a permanent color. It fades extremely fast. I'm not someone who washes their hair often either. Only a couple times a week. After two washes it showed fading. After 4, most of the color underneath near the nape of my hair was back to normal. It bleeds into the water & transfers onto your clothes and towel (even after today's 6th wash). I assure you I rinsed well, it's not residue. I used to be a colorist so I know what I'm doing here. I only use a very gentle sulfate free shampoo & natural, gentle conditioner. I will say though, if you have light to medium brown hair underneath it makes it look like a tootsie pop! (In a good way). I am so in love with the color that I will most likely be buying it again despite the disappointment of fading and bleeding. I'm DEFINITELY using my own developer and gloves next time! All in all, it's the best Garnier color result I've tried so far. It didn't dry my hair out like one I tried years ago. I'd just love for it to be an actual permanent color, not one that I have to worry about bleeding and fading. I have pics of the whole process but I couldn't get them to load so maybe I can add them later.

This color is NOT violet. I should have read these reviews first. It turned my hair red just like others here. I have no idea how this can be or still is marketed as violet. Nothing about it is that color! I want my money back!
