About This Shade
Garnier Olia shade 8.0, "Medium Blonde," is a pure, medium blonde shade formulated without other reflects in order to allow your natural tones to show through. It also provides 100% gray coverage.

Is This Shade Right For Me?
Shade 8.0 is best for anyone with natural hair between light blonde and light brown. For a lighter shade that still reflects naturally, try 9.0 Light Blonde.

For those who currently have color treated hair, there are special considerations for the color result you can achieve. Because of this, we do not recommend shade 8.0 for hair that has been previously colored shade 6.0 Light Brown or darker. For more help, use our Shade Selector Tool to find the shade for you!

About Olia
Unlike traditional haircolor, Olia uses a 60% oil blend with no ammonia natural flower oils to achieve brilliant, radiant color results. The oil powered technology propels colorants deep into the hair, giving you vivid, long-lasting color. Olia visibly improves and restores hair as the oils help to reverse roughness and dullness for more brilliant, long-lasting color. Olia-treated hair is hydrated, silky and up to 3X shinier than unwashed, uncolored hair.

The non-drip, velvety cream texture of Olia helps provide optimal comfort during application. Because Olia is ammonia-free, there is no harsh smell and it won't irritate your scalp. The hair dye kit includes everything you need: a developer applicator, a colorant tube, after-color conditioner, a set of gloves, and the instruction sheet. Follow the instruction sheet for the step-by-step process or watch our how-to videos below:

Wonderful natural-looking color

I have used this product for years. I am 73 and my hair still looks like a natural blonde. This leaves my hair shiny and well conditioned. Please don't discontinue this color. I have had a hard time finding it.

Don't buy this product.

A few minutes ago, I dyed my hair this color. Afterwards, you could clearly see the ends very damaged and falling off. My hair has been recently cut so seeing it broken after dyeing it could only mean the product was responsible for the damage. I'll sadly have to go tomorrow to get it cut up to my shoulders. In the picture, you can see the damage and brushing it and with slight touches, it falls.

Not a huge difference

Okay so here’s the thing… I think this didn’t really work for me because my hair is already that color. Oops. The coverage seemed okay, my hair was maybe a tiny bit lighter afterwards and it wasn’t patchy at all, but it also didn’t do much. The conditioner was really nice though and smelled good- my hair didn’t seem stripped after using it and I think the conditioner made it shinier. Probably a great product if you have hair where you can tell that you did something to it afterwards.

I used Garnier Olia 10.0 Very Light Blonde and found it easy to apply with clear instructions. The formula felt gentle on my scalp with no strong smell or irritation. The color came out even and left my hair feeling soft instead of dry. Overall, it gave me a nice light blonde with minimal damage

Ammonia free and smells good! But wasn’t my favori

I think this was okay. It wasn’t my favorite but I like how there was no ammonia! We used it on my sisters hair and it didn’t dry it out. In fact, I was surprised that it looked pretty healthy still after!

Recommend for those who like box hair dye

I tried this on my hair and the color was actually pretty. I am not usually a fan of box hair dye but I will give this dye a 10/10. My hair felt soft after rinsing out the dye.

Trust the Process, it's so worth it!

I am always excited to try a new color but nervous to do it at home on my own. I am an overthinker so I'm always concerned I'll miss a step or over process my hair. However, when I got the opportunity to try this hair color at no cost to me in exchange for my honest opinion, I couldn't pass it up. The instructions were very easy to follow and the products do smell like chemicals but nothing overbearing. I just did the tips of my hair and I love the way it came out. I would say I took all the precautions the instructions suggested and I had no hiccups. So what do y'all think, how did I do?

  • A: Hi Steph70, Using Olia 10.0 Very Light Blonde on Medium Brown hair will likely result in brassy, orange, or reddish-brown tones rather than a true blonde. We suggest trying Olia B+++ - Bleach Blonde Extreme Hair Dye Lightening kit with 7 levels of lift for brilliant, long-lasting blonde results. We hope this information helps!

Q: I bought the B bleach blonde lightening kit. I haven't used it yet. The directions don't have any mention of using a toner after the bleaching process. I don't want to end up with brassy gold roots. Is toner do-able with this lightening formula?

Q: I previously dyed my hair, which turned my hair from black to very dark brown, so if I use this dye, what colour would it most likely turn out to be?

    • A: Hello lokey, Unfortunately hair dye cannot lighten previously colored hair. Hair dye deposits color, it doesn't lift or remove existing color. If you would like us to help please call Garnier @ 800-442-7643 M-F 9:00am 5:30pm ET., and provide case # 42363969. We look forward to your call!

    Q: Is this ppd free

    1 Answer
    • A: Hi Reeese808, Thanks for reaching out! Bleaching products typically don't contain para-phenylenediamine (PPD) because they lighten hair instead of adding color. However, bleach can still irritate the scalp. Please look at the ingredient list. Thanks for your interest in Garnier!

Q: Why does lifting black hair make you have red hair? I thought this bleach could lift seven levels.

    1 Answer
    • A: Hi there Juij, we can see this wouldn’t be the result you were hoping for. Black is the hardest color to lighten, even for salon pros. Seven levels is not enough to bring black hair to a blonde. For black hair its more like 10 or 11 levels.

Q: My hair is currently dyed with oila 9.0… I want to go lighter with 9 1/2.1. Is it possible to go lighter with that shade since my hair is already lightened with 9.0? My natural hair is a medium blonde.

If you have hair that was color treated red it will not be able to lighten as artificial color does not have the ability to lighten artificial color.
