How to do an updo for short hair

It can be hard to try new ideas for short hair styles. And when you factor in hairstyles that are easy to do on a rushed weekday morning, too—well, good short curly hair dos can be pretty much impossible to find.

That’s because these easy hairstyles have to check off a few boxes: They can’t take longer than five minutes or thereabouts, require help from an extra set of hands, or involve any sort of hair tool. Fortunately, this textured half updo is one of the easiest hairstyles to create at home, and it doesn’t involve a blow dryer. (That’s already a win-win.)

For any stylish short haircuts like the bob or lob, this is a great look to DIY. And though this hairstyle will work with any hair texture—as all easy hair dos should—it looks especially good on curly short hair, since the curls add natural texture and movement to the hairstyle.
