Always read the hair color instructions insert in the box completely before beginning. Store between 50° and 80° F.

Step 1: Conduct a skin allergy test 48 hours before each application, even if you have already used coloring products before.
Step 2: Put on gloves and mix the colorant and developer according to the instructions in the box. Ensure to snap and pour the separate grapeseed oil ampoule directly into the mix.
Step 3: Apply the nourishing, non-drip formula to your hair as directed by the insert.
Step 4: Allow the color to process for the recommended time (typically 30 minutes).
Step 5: Rinse thoroughly until water runs clear, then apply the after-color mask infused with five oils. Leave on for the recommended time, then rinse.

Fast fading BEAUTIFUL color!

I will first say I absolutely LOVE this color! It's so complementary to any skin tone. It definitely leans more towards to magenta pink end of the spectrum rather than the lilac in the haircolor box. The application was nice. Pretty easy to work around my hair and enough to get the job done (I have medium length, thin, curly hair). The gloves were useless. The smell, however was BAD! I mean so strong you could smell it from the bathroom to the front door when my son got home! It heated up a little at the scalp but nothing too concerning, just wheww! No amount of scented oil can cover that ammonia scent! The after conditioner just made my hair frizz. Not a fan so ended up using my own. It's a cute bottle though. As for the color, it gave a nice even distribution even on the grey root area whereas quite often it can go a whole other level. Pre-color my hair was a mixture of browns, reddish blonde and silver at the roots. I hadn't colored it in about 4 months before using this. After some quick fading it became a mixture of lighter magenta with some medium red-violet. It gave a great even application at first and surprisingly had excellent grey coverage! I have gotten so many compliments on it and by people who don't really like "bold" colors. (Even my conservative Mom!) It's actually a perfect color for someone testing the waters of a bold color. My only problem with it is that it acts like a temporary, demi, or semi, not a permanent color. It fades extremely fast. I'm not someone who washes their hair often either. Only a couple times a week. After two washes it showed fading. After 4, most of the color underneath near the nape of my hair was back to normal. It bleeds into the water & transfers onto your clothes and towel (even after today's 6th wash). I assure you I rinsed well, it's not residue. I used to be a colorist so I know what I'm doing here. I only use a very gentle sulfate free shampoo & natural, gentle conditioner. I will say though, if you have light to medium brown hair underneath it makes it look like a tootsie pop! (In a good way). I am so in love with the color that I will most likely be buying it again despite the disappointment of fading and bleeding. I'm DEFINITELY using my own developer and gloves next time! All in all, it's the best Garnier color result I've tried so far. It didn't dry my hair out like one I tried years ago. I'd just love for it to be an actual permanent color, not one that I have to worry about bleeding and fading. I have pics of the whole process but I couldn't get them to load so maybe I can add them later.

This color is NOT violet. I should have read these reviews first. It turned my hair red just like others here. I have no idea how this can be or still is marketed as violet. Nothing about it is that color! I want my money back!

DONT BUY THIS!! It turned my hair bright red, not purple as it stated on the front of the box, spend $30 on 2 bottles thinking it was going to be a dark purple. Now I feel embarrassed about my hair because it’s now a bright red mixed with orange. Very disappointed and sad it wasn’t the color I wanted.

I love it! This color over my natural dark hair color ends up like very deep burgundy instead of a violet dye. It looks almost natural. The product does not damaged may hair at all. Using the right shampoo and conditioner my hair keeps the color for about 9 weeks. Even the faded color look good. For me this is an awesome product which deserved to be recommended.

Absolutely disgusted at product and support

I decided to color my hair to try and make myself feel better, I was so excited about this color. I applied it to hair that hasn't been colored in over 5 years and it came out the ugliest shade of red, I cried for days. I reached outbto support weeks ago and have yet to get a response back. Totally and completely disgusted with not only garnier but also now my hair. Thanks for making me feel worse, when I already have so much to deal with in regards to my chronic illnesses.

Horrible.

This is genuinely the worst purple hair dye I have ever used. My hair somehow turned lighter and patchier than how I started and it’s turned my hair pink and orange??? Would NOT recommend. And smells so strong when you put it on like ammonia and when you wash out is so strong like dye.

It’s not violet.

Did the try on this shade and loved what it said my hair would look like. It doesn’t look anything like that. My hair is red and I’m devastated. I’m going back to my other brand. I don’t trust Garnier after this and now seeing that the previous reviews also had people turn red instead of violet.

P: Why has V2 not been pulled from the market? It is straight red hair color, not at all like THE PURPLE pictured on the box? With the amount of negative reviews saying the exact same thing, I'm guessing its because you care more about money than customers?

    P: My favorite shade is Deepest Intense Purple in the Nutrisse Ultra Color. It seems to color the few grays I do have fine, but is there another shade you can recommend that has 100% coverage. Thank you!

The Nutrisse Ultra Color Nourishing Permanent Hair Color Cream, L1 Deep Intense Lilac Sweet Fig is ideal to use on natural medium brown hair, however, its not recommended for use on gray. The results on the gray hair will be very different from the rest of the hair, most likely, lighter purple.

      P: My hair is dyed light-medium brown (faded, a lot of red tone to it), with a few inches of regrowth at my roots being my natural mousy brown (a few grays). Would this color work, or be too red? Already bought it, so hoping you tell me good news!

      • R: Hi Stayinside- Thank you for your question on the Nutrisse Ultra Color. Darker hair will have darker results and sometimes it is difficult to lift. We can suggest doing a strand test before applying the color. Do do this follow the instructions for your patch allergy test, snip 1/4" swatch of your hair tape it at one end. Allow it to sit in the mixture for the 25 minutes, rinse and allow it to air dry this way you will be able to see your results before applying all over. Thank you for choosing Garnier!

      • R: Hi kbk68! Thank you for your interest in Nutrisse Ultra Color L1 - Ultra Bold Lilac. This color can be achieved on the natural hair that is truly Medium Brown to Dark Blonde. Lighter hair will achieve a more intense color result, and is not recommended. This is also a permanent haircolor, so, although color fades gradually over time, with each shampoo, as the hair grows, there will be roots! We hope this information is helpful.
