About This Hair Dye Shade
Garnier Olia 4.62 Dark Garnet Red is a permanent dark red hair color with burgundy reflects. Powered by a 60% blend of natural flower oils and no ammonia, its patented high-tenacity dyes stay true to tone for long-lasting color and 100% gray coverage.

Is This Shade Right For Me?
Olia 4.62 Dark Garnet Red is best for natural hair between light brown and black. On very dark brown to black hair, expect subtle burgundy reflects, but on light brown hair, results appear brighter. If your hair is already color-treated, results may vary. Olia 4.62 is not recommended for hair dyed with shade Olia 3.0 Darkest Brown or darker. Use our Shade Selector Tool to find the right burgundy hair color for you.

About Olia
Unlike traditional hair dye, Olia is powered by a 60% oil blend (including sunflower, meadowfoam, and camellia oils) that helps colorants penetrate the hair for vivid, long-lasting results and up to 3X more shine vs. unwashed, uncolored hair. By visibly repairing coarse and dull locks, these Olia oils also provide full hydration while you color for silky hair with up to three times more shine than unwashed, uncolored hair.
The-no drip, velvety cream is easy to apply, and the ammonia-free formula means no harsh ammonia smell.

Step 1: Always perform a skin allergy test 48 hours before coloring. To help prevent stains with this dark red shade, apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly around the hairline and wear an old T-shirt. Section hair into 4 parts for even saturation.
Since this is a dark red hair color, we recommend preparing carefully before applying Olia 4.62 Dark Garnet Red to help prevent stains.
Pro tip: Use Garnier Micellar Water (Waterproof) to remove any hair dye mishaps!

Step 2: Follow the timing in the instruction leaflet; most users process for 30 minutes (up to 40 minutes for resistant grays). Rinse until water runs clear and use the included After Color Conditioner.

This permanent burgundy hair dye kit includes everything you need:
• Developer applicator bottle
• Colorant tube
• After Color Conditioner
• Protective gloves
• Instruction leaflet

I have already recommended this product to several people. I am African American with natural hair. In the past any dyes I have used have not taken and always led to very disappointing (and sometimes expensive) experience, I was discouraged from using dyes. I decided to give the Olia dye a try b/c it uses oil and won't dry out my already fragile hair. I also have silver hairs, which are notoriously harder to dye, but this dye took on those silvers like a champ and the color was so cool it looked like highlights. Then the color on the rest of my head adjusted to my slightly different tones and became this amazing color. This has been a great experience that I hope will not end.

Have been using this product for at least a year. I'm 70 yrs old. Don't know how grey I am because I always have dyed hair but it covers my hair completely No Greys! Hair is so shiny and soft. Olio lasts longer than other products I use. Only problem I have is can't find this shade locally I have to do mail order.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I really enjoyed using the Olia Dark Intense Auburn hair color. The application process was simple, and the formula didn’t have that harsh chemical smell you usually get with box dyes.. it actually smelled pleasant, which made the experience so much better. The color came out rich and vibrant, giving my hair a beautiful dark auburn tone that looked natural but still bold. I also appreciated that it left my hair feeling soft and shiny instead of dry or damaged. The coverage was even, and it did a great job covering grays as well.

I used this product on my niece. I went on pretty smoothly. Wasn't as bright as I would like. Of course didn't smell good while applying but that was expected.

I really loved this hair color. The shade Dark Intense Auburn turned out rich, vibrant, and very natural-looking. It doesn’t have that strong chemical smell like other dyes, and it left my hair feeling incredibly soft. The application process was easy, and the packaging includes everything you need. It didn’t stain much, and my hair looked shiny and healthy afterward. A great option if you want bold color without damaging your hair!

Once the hair is dyed darker, there is no easy way to lighten the dyed hair if you decide to go lighter after all. Go to the webpage for a specific black color on our website and use the virtual TRY ON tool to see how the color looks on you to help decide if black is for you.

    • A: Hi there Bbyrno! Oh boy! So sorry to hear that…adding the conditioner to the developer dilutes it so it will no longer work as it should. A color made to be used with 20 Volume Developer will not work well if mixed with a different strength developer, possibly not at all.

    • A: Hi There, Thanks for reaching out! If you currently have color treated hair, there are special considerations for the color result you can achieve. We do not recommend shade 4.60 for hair that has been previously colored a shade darker. This shade of color might also be too intense on gray hair. Thanks for your interest in Garnier!

A bright dark red shade (garnet, for example) might give you a reddish burgundy glow --but still the overall color effect will be a dark brown. The dark soft mahogany will give you a very subtle reddish hint --still the overall color effect will be dark brown. When I want a dark brown with a reddish hint, I usually mix two shades together (dark brown and dark garnet, or dark brown and dark mahogany). It depends what overall effect you want on your hair.
