Tricks for a Day-2 Curl Refresh

Tricks for a Day-2 Curl Refresh

Your curls can keep you guessing, especially first thing in the morning. Will your defined spiral curls hold up or will you have frizzy bedhead? No matter what, it’s smart to strategize your look around your cleansing schedule. On day one, hold off on the top knot or pony for the day you shampoo—you’ll want to save slicked-back styles for days three, four or five after your curls start to lose their freshness. Day two is prime time to bring back the bounce into your curls. Here’s how you can do that!

What to Do On Day 2

Step 1. Fill a spray bottle with water and add a pump or two of leave-in conditioner like Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Curl Nourish Butter Cream Leave-In. Shake the bottle to mix, then lightly spritz it throughout your strands.
Step 2. Warm a styling product like Garnier Fructis Curl Stretch Pudding between your hands and scrunch your curls, squeezing from the ends towards the roots. Avoid applying product directly at the roots.
Step 3. Spot-treat any curls that still need reshaping. Prep your fingers with a dime-sized amount of gel like Garnier Fructis Curl Shape Spray Gel and twist curls around your fingers or add product where you see frizz.
Step 4. Get some lift and volume at the crown. Flip your head forward and use your fingertips to gently fluff up your roots.

Remember the golden rule:

Never comb, brush or run your fingers through second-day curls. This can create frizz, separate your curls and destroy your curl definition.
