Pump up Your Waves

Pump up Your Waves

Love your waves? You should! Not only do beachy strands look gorgeous in their natural state, they are one of the most versatile hair textures. Waves have the ability to take on many different looks, so you can change your style without tons of extra time or work. So when you feel like big, voluminous curls, use these simple tricks to bring out some extra bounce.

Diffuse and Define

You can gently work your waves into subtle curls with a little bit of product and a diffuser. Start with clean, damp strands and scrunch with Garnier Fructis Curl Construct Mousse to build big, defined curls. Now use a diffuser – section by section, rest hair on the diffuser attachment and hold until dry. Afterward, wrap random sections of hair around a curling wand to polish up the spirals around your face.

Plop Overnight

You can use this no-heat technique to pump up your waves overnight. Begin with freshly washed hair and finger comb your favorite styling product through wet strands. (One to try: Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Curl Sculpt Cream Gel, which creates bouncy, crunch-free curls.) Place a cotton T-shirt in front of you and slowly lower and shake your hair into it. Wrap the shirt around your head and neck, then wrap the sleeves to the front like a turban. In the morning, remove the T-shirt and fluff out your frizz-free curls and waves.

Blow Dry and Style

Want maximum curls? Start with clean, damp hair. For best results, use a curl enhancing shampoo and conditioner like Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Curl Nourish Sulfate-Free Shampoo and Conditioner. Apply a dime-size amount of leave-in conditioner from mid-shaft to ends, then work a golf-ball size amount of curl enhancing mousse through your hair from root to tip. Dry your hair with a diffuser, scrunching with your fingers. Once your hair is completely dry, wind sections around a curling wand to create defined curls. Finish with a dime-size amount of anti-frizz serum to curls for final glossy definition.
