What Does 98% Naturally Derived Ingredients Mean?

We consider an ingredient naturally derived if:

  • It is unchanged from its natural state.
  • It has undergone chemical or other processing, which modifies it from its natural state but it retains at least 50% of its molecular structure from the original plant source.

In general, a raw ingredient is processed to improve its stability, efficacy and/or safety for use in hair care products.

  • The degree of processing varies for each ingredient, but at the end, only a plant-based ingredient that retains at least 50% of its molecular structure from the original plant source is considered naturally derived for Garnier Fructis products.
  • Minerals must retain the same chemical composition as their natural mineral ingredient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Legitimately the best conditioner I've ever used. I love the light, fresh scent. It works on both my straight fine hair and my mother's coarse wavy hair. You get all the shine and moisture without the flattening weight or greasy look. Thanks to this campaign I feel GREAT about my hair again!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a fan of this conditioner at all. The only good thing I have to say is that it smells good. This really weighed my hair down and I felt like it left a film on my hair. It's just not for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This still has fragrance in the 2% not naturally derived. The conditioner is nice and thick but Im not sure if its as hydrating as the @lorealhair Elvive conditioner I used last. But points for being 98% naturally derived, 94% biodegradable, and vegan!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the smell of this! Its hydrating and leaves my hair shiny and soft. I use this with the lush big shampoo so the drying aspects of that shampoo are not as visible!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Smells good not too over powering and good unisex scent. Conditions hair decently nice and thick. Nothing bad to say about it but nothing particularly good or special about it either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Talk about hydration! This smells amazing and pairs well with the shampoo for wash days! With a not too thick product, went on well and left my hair feeling hydrated and smooth until my next wash. So excited to keep using this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This conditioner is great. It smells good and does do a good job at hydrating. I have a dry scalp and I find that it does a pretty good job.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Garner is starting to understand the portion of the market that wants products that are good for you AND the environment. They are trying with this conditioner, but its still missing the mark. I liked the scent and the light-weight formula, but dont think it really hydrated as advertised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cute packaging on this line of products!! It worked great to smooth out my hair and take some tangles out of it. The smell of it is good too. I like the dispenser, very straight forward and works well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I would never buy this product I have long, thick, dry hair and need a thick moisturizing conditioner. This conditioner did NOT do that. I had to, literally, use a half a bottle of conditioner and still had tangled hair that took me 30 minutes to untangle. The smell wasn't bad but wasn't appealing either.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I was very excited to receive this product in my VoxBox! I have used Garnier products for years and really enjoy their haircare line. Unfortunately, I did not like the smell of this product at all. It did not smell clean... I can't even describe it. The scent didn't last at all. I liked the packaging- like a health juice haha. And I love that is natural, however the smell is a big factor in conditioner for me so I have to say I will NOT be repurchasing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I'm on the fence about this conditioner...it does get the job done but I just want something more from it and I can't explain it? I have to use a lot of conditioner regardless because my hair is very long and thick. This conditioners texture didn't seem as thick as I am used to. It still leaves my hair soft though. Works out the tangles as well as any other conditioner and doesn't weigh my hair down. Works well in its pair. The smell is pretty as well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I love the smell of this. I dont have very dry hair and felt that this over moisturized my hair. It made it greasy fairly quickly after use. I think this is a great fit for someone looking for an abundance of moisture, but not a top choice if you dont need that extra hydration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this conditioner, it makes my hair super soft and it smells amazing. Its great that is vegan and animal friendly. Its a good size bottle and will last me 2-3 months. I would recommend this conditioner for sure.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The packaging is super cute. The product smells lovely, but its not as hydrating as other products Ive used. I had to use a lot of product to coat my hair. To be fair I have processed hair that tend to lean quite dry, but it does claim to be hydrating. Its an average drugstore conditioner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Did a great job conditioning. I felt like other products make my hair feel a bit softer. It did a great job of being light on my hair but I usually like my hair smoother after I condition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I use this conditioner currently. It leaves my hair feeling soft. It doesnt help my dry scalp at all though. A little bit goes a long way with the conditioner so it lasts. I havent used it in color treated hair so I am not sure how well it would hold up.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from smells very good! packaging is nice! i do not like the texture very much personally & would not consider it a staple or a need.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I received this product for free to try. I love how light it is yet felt like it did do a good job of conditioning my hair. It is safe for color treated hair and it goes well with the hair mask they make as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great conditioner Garnier Fructis Hydrating Treat Conditioner with Aloe Extract is a great product. Compared to other products I've used this conditioner was great for the whole family, no need for 2 different types of conditioners. I used this product on my straight thin hair and on my childrens curly hair and it removed tangles and added just the right amount of moisture to our hair without weighing it down. It had a great smell and was thick and spread well on the hair. I would recommend this product to everyone. I will definitely be buying this product over and over again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The conditioner just like the shampoo left my hair feeling hydrated without feeling weighed down. A little goes a long way with this product so the bottle seems to last pretty long. This and the accompanying shampoo go hand in hand and they are both worth the money. Highly recommend!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I like the shampoo a little bit more than the conditioner.... the conditioner does the job but I also feel like it was very watery and I had to put a lot in my hair for it to work. It did not make my hair greasy and made it soft and moisturized but I wish it was a little bit of a thicker formula.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Like the shampoo, the conditioner was presented great and smelled great, though the lid made it a little work to get the conditioner out. It definitely felt luxurious in the hair, but because I don't need a lot of extra moisture it wasn't the perfect fit for me, however, it would be great for anyone who needs extra moisture!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I honestly don't think this product made a huge difference in my hair. My hair is naturally dry and the sham/con products I typically use really leave my hair feeling more moisturized and healthy, compared to this one where it feels drier than normal. I know aloe is ideal for skin and hair, but I think finding a way to incorporate coconut oil or cocoa butter would make a huge difference in the "hydrating" aspect of this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean feeling This made my hair so shiny, smooth, and soft. Theres no residue afterwards and it only takes a small bit even for the longest hair. The smell is very refreshing

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Conditioner Gives Me Silky Smooth Hair I'll admit I'm a slacker when it comes to using conditioner in my hair. In the past, I never felt like conditioner did much for me. After trying Garnier Fructis Hydrating Treat Conditioner with Aloe Extract, I've been converted, though. My hair is easier to brush, silky smooth, and looks shiny and healthy. I love that it's primarily composed of natural ingredients; this is a vast improvement over many of my other haircare products. I'll definitely continue to use this product so long as it continues to provide me with solid results!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from While I had a hard time getting it out of the bottle after I used it a couple times, I did like this conditioner. It smells nice, its affordable and it works well. My hair after I use it is soft, its easy to rinse house and does seem to hydrate well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like this conditioner. I really liked this conditioner. It is thick with a light clean fragrance. I did not need to use smoother after using this product .
