When Should You Deep Condition Your Curls?

You know that deep conditioning is an important step in your curl-care routine, but how often do you actually need to do it? The answer isn’t always simple. Everything from curl pattern, porosity (how easily your curls hold and lose moisture) and even the season affects how quickly your curls get parched. Weekly treatment may be necessary in the winter, while every other week is often more practical during warm summer months. When in doubt, look to your curls for clues. Dullness, frizz or lack of definition are red flags that they are getting thirsty!

Now, for a quick recap on the right way to deep condition. After cleansing, apply a generous amount of deep conditioner. If your curls are extra dry, add an oil to seal in extra moisture. Garnier Fructis Marvelous Oil Deep Nourish repairs and nourishes with Cupuacu and Brazil nut oil. Comb the treatment through your curls, making sure all of them are evenly saturated from root to tip and leave it in for 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and style as usual. Now you’re ready to flaunt those pretty, perky curls!
